BOAT (Stephanie Nugent)

A screen dance collaboration with choreographer Stephanie Nugent. Stephanie was seraching for a collaborator to adapt her piece 'Boat' which she had developed with her daughter Savanah. We wanted to transport the movement into spaces where comfort and agitation stressed the loving and selfless giving of a mother as she opens the world beyond herself to her child. Originally, we were going to use a musical accompany as I worked on the video the sound became instrumental and I found myself creating a deep soundscape from the sound we captured during shooting and elements I recorded back in my studio.
